UNDERSTANDING THE MODERN DAY WORKPLACE
The modern day workplace is more than just a place stashed with tables and chairs here and there where you just expect your employees to just show up and start putting in manual hours in order to do each and every project coming your way. The environment, setup, layout, attractiveness of the office spaces has become a major factor towards the contribution of creative ideas and inputs that the employees can come up with. Meaning to say that a workplace should be such that instead of feeling lethargic and left out all day, an employee feels all pumped up and ready to take on any challenge and work thrown at them with the utmost of zeal.
MAKING THE OFFICE A PLACE OF COMFORT
Apart from just being a fun place and environment, office and workplaces should also be full of equality without any bias in order to promote the free flowing of ideas without any pulling of rank. However, such an environment is simply not possible for it leads to anarchy and chaos in the place. The only place that such equality can exist is behind closed doors in a conference room. Conference rooms, however, can be really intimidating for many for it is the place where all the developments and on-going of your team are discussed and put forward for the members on the panel to take appropriate decisions. With just a table and chairs, sitting on which everybody in the room is judging you, the same table acts as your source of comfort once everything is done and dusted for the day; and so these conference tables should be extremely comforting and welcoming to each and every individual in the room despite their rank and position in the company. As such, let us try and decode the factors that actually make a conference table a perfect fit for professional setups:
- The Shape
The build shape of a conference table should always be considered depending upon whether or not hierarchy or seniority exists on the table. If it does, a square or a rectangular table is the best fit. Otherwise, if there is equal pegging and display of power in the hands of every individual, a round table is the way to go because why not! A circle, after all, is a shape indicative of equality.
- Size
The percentage of the carpet space occupied by the table should be aesthetically perfect. With a conference room intended to be a place where presentations, interjections, and similar stuff are bound to take place, the table itself should not consume a major chunk of the room space such that there is no more space left to do these things in a comfortable manner.
- Multipurpose yet configurable
In any organization/office, there is not just a single team or entity that needs to conduct conferences and meetings regarding developments and updates. There are a lot of entities that make up an organization: the work of which differ completely and have no relation whatsoever with other entities. As such, the needs and way in which every team/entity conducts its meetings and seminars shall also be contrastingly different. Therefore, the conference table should be such that it fits the purpose of everyone and that can be configured in many ways to make meetings easier. For example, while giving a presentation, it becomes difficult for those sitting and facing away from the screen have a tough time understanding and keeping up with whatever is going on.
